Monitoring and Discovery for EnLIGHTened Computing

Resource Monitoring and Discovery of large computational data Grids is essential to guarantee high performance and reliability. In this paper, we identify the various resource monitoring and discovery issues and challenges that need to be solved in a large adaptive Grid environment. We survey the existing Grid monitoring solutions and discuss the monitoring and discovery framework that we have developed for the enLIGHTened Computing Project.
